Abstract

Deflection is a change in shape in a beam or rod in the direction of the y-axis due to a given vertical loading. Deformation in the beam can be explained based on the deflection of the beam from its position before loading. This study aims to determine the angular rotation or slope of the beam due to the influence of concentrated loads with a simple pedestal and to determine the deflection/deflection of the beam due to the influence of concentrated loads with a simple pedestal. The method used in testing is the broad method of bending moment diagrams for deflection/deflection and rotation of the angle/slope of concentrated load beams with a simple pedestal and the influence and amount of loading exerted on the object. The method used in the test in this research is the area of the bending moment diagram for the deflection/deflection and angle rotation/slope test of concentrated load beams with a simple pedestal, and the influence and magnitude of the load given are the to the object. Based on the result of this study are the relationship between the load and the deflection where the load is directly proportional to the deflection. The greater the load given to the beam with a length (l) = 650 mm, the greater the deflection/deflection obtained, i.e., if the load (p) = 250 gr in the middle of the beam, the actual deflection/deflection (y) = 0,47 mm and (y) 0,45 theoretically, and for load (p) = 1000 obtained deflection/deflection (y) = 1,85 mm in actual and (y) = 1,82 mm theoretically. Likewise, the relationship between load and angular rotation, where the greater the load, the greater the angular rotation/slope. For the load (p) = 250 gr, the angular rotation at point a and point b = 0,12º and for the load (p) = 1000 gr, the angular rotation at point a and point b = 0,48º.
