Abstract

I conducted this study to investigate the influence of evenly divided loads on deformations in a cantilever beam by looking at the slope and deflection values of three types of materials: copper, steel, and aluminum. The research method used in this study is the double integral method. The results of the study on cantilever beams (copper and aluminum steel) that were given a centralized load were for the same load (4 N/m), the angular rotation of the aluminum material (0.28 ) was larger than the rotation of the copper corner (1.22), and the angular rotation of the steel material (0.10) was smaller than the rotational angle of the aluminum and copper materials. This shows the relationship between the slope and the load given is linear. Meanwhile, for the deflection value at an even load (4 N/m), the deflection value of aluminum material (1.98) is greater than the deflection or deflection of copper material (1.54). The smaller deflection of steel (0.69) is because of the elasticity of aluminum material (  = 70 GPa) greater than the elasticity of copper (  = 90 GPa), and the elasticity of steel material ( ) is smaller.
