Along with the development of the times, human needs for vehicles as a means of transportation are increasing, especially for motorcycles, which are a means of transportation that is much loved by the public. Due to the increasing need for motorcycles, motorcycle manufacturers are racing to create motorcycles that are preferred by consumers, especially for cheap maintenance costs and fuel economy. This study aims to determine the effect of adding additives to petralite fuel on engine performance, which in this case is fuel power and consumption. The method used is an experiment, where data collection has been carried out by measuring variations in rotation, namely, 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm, and 2000 rpm, as well as load variations of 1 kg, 2 kg, and 3 kg and variations in the composition of addictive substances, namely, 1 g, 2 g, and 3 g.
The result of this study is that the higher the engine speed, the greater the power produced until it reaches a maximum power of 1.36 Bhp at 2000 rpm. Furthermore, the more mixtures of addictive substances in petralite fuel, the higher the fuel consumption value; it can be seen at the same rotation of 1000 rpm and the same load of 500 grams for the magnitude of the smallest fuel consumption value, which is in the mixture of additive substances at 35.35 kg/hour, and the largest is in the mixture of additive substances at 40.10 kg/hour. A mixture of 1 gram of additives provides good performance to the performance of the fuel motor, and the fuel consumption in the combustion motor decreases.
